Oatmeal White Chocolate Chunk Cookies (in a Jar)

Oats and chunks of white chocolate make these a cookie lover’s dream! They’re so moist and chewy, you’ll need a glass of milk to wash them down with. Your cookie jar will is sure to empty out fast with these inside. Luckily they bake in 10 minutes so it’s easy to whip up a fresh batch anytime! Or make our cookie-in-a-jar to give as a gift. All you have to do is pre-measure the dry ingredients, place them into a jar and cover with the lid. Complete the gift by placing the wet ingredients, canola oil, eggs, and vanilla into a basket with a jar. Print out the recipe and include with gift. Makes a good gift for teachers, coaches, or anyone who deserves a thank you gift!

For the Jar

½ cup white sugar (125 mL)

½ cup brown sugar (125 mL)

1 cup all purpose flour (250 mL)

1 cup quick cooking oats (250 mL)

½ tsp cinnamon (2 mL)

¼ tsp nutmeg (1 mL)

½ tsp baking soda (2 mL)

¼ tsp salt (1 mL)

6 oz. white chocolate, coarsely chopped (170 g)

For Added Ingredients

½ cup canola oil (125 mL)

2 eggs (2)

1 tsp vanilla (1)

For the Jar

  1. Layer all dry ingredients in a 1 qt. (1 L) jar. Cover with lid. Store at room temperature until ready to use or until ready to give as a gift.

For Added Ingredients

  1. Transfer jar ingredients to a large bowl. Stir to combine ingredients.
  2. Whisk liquid ingredients together until combined. Add to dry ingredients. Carefully mix all ingredients together just until combined.
  3. Drop tablespoons of dough onto parchment paper lined baking sheets. Press lightly with a fork. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 8 – 10 minutes or until golden brown. Cool on baking sheets for 1 minute. Transfer to a wire rack to completely cool.
